January/February 2018 | View in browser

In this issue of DofE News, the first of 2018, we bring you a great way to start the new year in a positive frame of mind.

This year, why not make it a time for you to learn new skills - or help your participants to discover new interests and abilities? Read on for important eDofE Training updates, the launch of the 2018 DofE Adventure and access to a wealth of updated resources.

Welcome Pack changes

The price of a Welcome Pack, which includes a DofE Participation Place, will increase from 1 April to £21 for Bronze, £21 for Silver and £28 for Gold. This reflects the increasing annual costs to the DofE Charity of running The Duke of Edinburgh's Award. We have held this increase down to just £1 due to generous fundraising supporters; commercial activity; fee-paying Licensed Organisations and participants and the efforts of our volunteer network.

Beat the January blues

Freezing cold weather, dark mornings and the return of everyday life after the festive break can only mean one thing: January blues.

To help you inject some energy back into your DofE group, we’ve put together ten ideas for getting participants excited about completing their programme this year.

eDofE Training updated

We have recently updated eDofE to add new functionality to the training screens and provide further support for training delivery. All eDofE role holders can now see their training record, with a list of all DofE training courses and e-learning modules completed.

Please contact your DofE Region/Country Office if you have a question about your training record (e.g. if you think courses should be listed and don't appear).

eDofE can also be used to access and complete the DofE's e-learning modules, to book training courses (via the Opportunities Finder) and to pay for DofE-run training courses. DofE Region/Country Office staff may be in touch with further information about how eDofE can support Licensed Organisations with their training administration and delivery.
